The Iberostar is approximately 30 miles from the Cancun Airport, just a few minutes from Playa del Carmen, and right next to an 18-hole golf course. The resort is situated directly on the beach, within view of the island of Cozumel.

350 total guestrooms.  324 with 2 double beds or 1 king-size bed, in individual Bungalow style three story story buildings, consisting of 36 rooms with Garden and Pool views. Each Bungalow is surrounded by 28 acres of lush and exuberant tropical gardens. Rooms have two double beds or one king bed, bathroom with shower only, hair dryer, ceiling fan, coffee maker, safe, mini-bar with soft drinks, ceiling fan and private balcony or terrace.  Junior suites are also available. 

Handicapped Rooms

Handicapped rooms have specially equipped bathrooms.

All rooms have air conditioning with ceiling fan,  private bathrooms with shower and hairdryers, private terrace or balcony, satellite color T.V. with remote control, minibar with soft drinks, direct-dial telephones and in room safe deposit boxes.

There is a lake pool, kids pool, activity pool and adult pool. The spectacular 36,000 sq ft lake pool has a central island covered with palm trees, complete with a Jacuzzi. The adult pool is in the rocks of a cenote, with a beautiful cascading waterfall.

The Iberostar Tucan is situated directly on a 1/8 mile stretch of white sandy beach. There is a 5-Star SCUBA Diving Center offering optional dives for certified divers and certification courses for new divers (there is an extra charge for these services).

Laundry and valet, beauty salon, baby-sitting, 24-hour on-call doctor, shopping arcade, fitness center with steam room.

Iberostar Tucan Resort Golf Nearby

This championship-level golf course was carved right out of the jungle by the Robert Von Hagge Associates. This 7,202 yard course is rated 73.1 and has plenty of tee boxes for every level of play. It is situated next to Playa del Carmen.

There are three different clubs available for children between the ages of 5 and 16 from 10:15 am to 5:00 pm. The Mini-Club is for kids between 4 and 7, the Maxi-Club is for 8 to 12, and the Teeny Club is for 13 to 16.

Daily and nightly entertainment including aerobics, dance lessons, water polo, beach volleyball, water volleyball, basketball, ping-pong, billiards and table soccer. There is a Kiddie disco at 8:00 pm every night in the theatre.

Nightly entertainment with live band and professional dancers as well as weekly Theme Parties.

La Gondola
An a la carte Italian restaurant, reservations are required. There is an elegant dress code, gentlemen are requested to wear slacks (no jeans). Hours are 6:30 to 10:30 pm.

La Hacienda
An a la carte Mexican restaurant, reservations are required. There is an elegant dress code, gentlemen are requested to wear slacks (no jeans). Hours are 6:30 to 10:30 pm.

La Marimba
An a la carte grill steakhouse, reservations are required. Gentlemen are requested to wear slacks or Bermuda shorts (no jeans). Hours are 6:30 to 10:30 pm.

Palapa Grill Uxmal
A beach/pool snack bar serving a continental breakfast from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, a buffet lunch from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm, coffee and cakes from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, and snacks until 6:00 pm.

Tulum
The main restaurant serves delicious buffet-style meals, featuring show cooking and special theme nights. Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 10:00 am, dinner is served from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. No shorts or sleeveless t-shirts are allowed during dinner hours.

Guests receive a complimentary day pass to the Iberostar Paraiso del Mar and the Iberostar Cozumel (transportation not included), and one complimentary tank dive on minimum 7 night stays (certified divers only).

Thank you so much for all of your help with our long-awaited family trip to Mexico.  It helped with the holidays this year after loosing Mom.  I believe she was with us in spirit.  My parents had talked about going on this trip for as long as I could remember.  We we had gone earlier.

The Iberostar Tucan Resort was wonderful and exceeded my expectations.  Everyone from your office and the resort staff were very friendly and helpful.  The views of the ocean from our rooms were breath taking!  The beach was terrific and the large pool was a lot of fun.  We went for a week in December 2005 and the weather was perfect.  The week went by so fast.  It was so hard to leave such a beautiful place.  We can't wait to go back.  I have recommended it to all of our family and friends.  We took several day trips to Cozumel, Cancun, and downtown Playa del Carmen.  We also went on the Chichén Itzá tour one day.  We had a great time!

Just returned from the Iberostar Tucan in Playa del Carmen.  Beautiful resort.  Great time.  Food was very good.  Weather was hot and sunny.  Jungle in the middle of the resort with monkeys and many species of birds.  APPLE tours did a nice job of arranging travel details. We will take the kids nest year.
