Impression of the Riu Yucatan
Resort The Riu Yucatan Resort is located 1.8 miles from Playa del Carmen and 34 miles from the Cancun International Airport. The resort is situated on the beach within a hotel development featuring an 18-hole golf course and features a main building surrounded by 3-story buildings and 43,750 square yards of lush gardens. The resort is designed in Mexican Hacienda-style architecture. A shopping center is 880 yards from resort next to Mexican Street. |

Riu Yucatan Resort Dining:
Combining a healthy lifestyle with excellent meals is a premise shared by all Riu Hotels. Quality food in all of its varieties contributes to making dining yet another attraction. Accordingly, at all Riu Hotels you can savor both the local culinary delights as well as the best international cuisine, all served by experienced restaurant staff. The policy on dining is that when you check in at the hotel you choose the dining time you would prefer for the BUFFET restaurant. You will have that time reserved for you, at the same table every night. If you would like to change times at the buffet restaurant they will allow you to do so as long as space is available. As well, if you would like to eat at any of the a la carte restaurants you need only make a reservation that morning for the restaurant of your choice. You do NOT have to eat at the same restaurant every night. And guests staying at the Palace are allowed to eat at any of the a la carte restaurants in the 3 other resorts. Anyone staying at either the Yucatan, Playacar or Tequila can use the a la carte restaurants at all except for the Riu Palace.

Judy and Maria's Summation of the Riu Yucatan Resort: The Riu Yucatan Resort is a beautiful resort with Spanish decor and opulence. The Riu Yucatan Resort features a large, wide, white sand, palm tree-lined beach. The swimming pool with swim-up pool bar was somewhat small and seemed crowded. The dining was wonderful and all meals very appetizing. The decoration of the guest rooms seemed plain with dark, heavy wood furniture. The Riu Yucatan Resort has a great supervised children’s program and is a wonderful resort selection for the guest seeking relaxed dining, activities, wonderful beach and fun!
