Judy and Maria's First Impression of Casa de Campo Resort La Romana July 2004. We chose to fly from Philadelphia to Punta Cana on USA 3000 Airlines. Upon arrival into Punta Cana we chartered a helicopter to fly to the Casa de Campo Resort. The rationale for this flight was to save time and have the opportunity to view and photograph La Romana and the Casa de Campo Resort from the air. Our first impression of the resort complex from the helicopter was very remarkable. Maria photographed the golf courses dotted with villas and swimming pools, vast expanses of greenery speckled with multi-colored flowers, miles and miles of shoreline outlined by the crystal azure sea, and the overhead view of the Amphitheater and Altos de Chavón was absolutely breathtaking. The Casa de Campo Resort is a magnificent sight from the air. The following is our adventure, please enjoy. Photographs by Maria Thomas and are exclusive © to Judy and Maria's Travel, Inc. |

Note from Judy and Maria: The children's programs at Casa de Campo Resort are age-appropriate, supervised, organized, structured and fun for the children. We observed the little ones on a butterfly hunt and horseback riding. Children can participate in a tour to Altos de Chavón where they will tour the art school and pottery classes. Each Friday the younger children have a birthday party for Camillo (the green character shown above in photo).

Casa de Campo Golf
|
Casa de Campo's Peter Dye-designed golf courses are among the best in the world. The "Teeth of the Dog" has seven holes right on the ocean. It consistently ranks in Golf Magazine's "Top100 Courses in the world" and is considered the finest course in the Caribbean. The "Links" is a challenging inland course; and the new "Dye Fore" perched atop the bluffs of the Chavón River, is a masterpiece destined to rival the "Teeth of the Dog." Tee times are available
from 7:20 am to 5:30 pm. |
|
Casa de Campo
Equestrian Center
|
The equestrian activities at Casa de Campo include trail rides through the tropical splendor of the Dominican countryside; intensive riding, jumping and polo instruction, international-level polo matches and other special events. Dozens of horses fill the stables at Casa de Campo, which makes finding the proper pony as easy as a trail ride. Instructions are offered in English or Western-style riding, jumping, dressage and polo. If you seek the thrill of polo, the Casa de Campo facilities are among the best in the Caribbean. With three practice fields, one playing field and the largest string of polo ponies under a single brand, there is no place better to enjoy this rigorous and engaging sport. Equipment, group instruction and personalized training are available and weekly polo matches are played during November to April season. International jumping competitions are held at Casa del Campo Resort. Guests may be interested in a rousing game of Donkey polo! Laughs will be had by all. Enrico Canobbio, Equestrian Center Director Note of interest from Judy and Maria: Grandparents can ride in a horse drawn carriage following their family on their horseback ride. |

Casa de Campo
boarding Kennel
|
An on-site at Casa de Campo Resort is an air-conditioned, clean, and fully staffed boarding kennel. Touring the kennel was important for us to see, and so we did. Hunting dogs of all verities and personal pets greeted us with wagging tails and excitement. The kennel was immaculate and shining -- and the dogs happy. It was a pleasure for us to witness the quality of service offered -- a true vacation retreat. |
