With all three resorts situated side-by-side along an immense stretch of Bavaro Beach, the Iberostar properties practically form a town unto themselves. Located on the Southeast coast, the resorts are 22 km from the airport and 54 km from Higuey.

There are two parallel free form lake-style swimming pools, creating a massive pool area rimmed with comfortable lounge chairs, shaded palapas and swaying palm trees. There is also a children`s pool

Melia Cocotal Golf and Country Club - 20 km
There is an 18 and a 9 hole course with driving range, pro-shop, rental equipment and golf academy (tee times between 8 am and 3 pm). The 18-hole measures 7285 from the Gold, 6855 from the Blue and 6448 from the White.

The Iberostar Dominicana Resort:  Sports and Games:  Aerobic, watersports (not motorized), windsurf and sailing (1 hour per person per day), tennis, volleyball, gymnastics, air rifle shooting and archery, water polo, table tennis, diving (PADI Diving Center with charge), horse riding and deep sea fishing (with charge) and many more.

The Iberostar Dominicana is a 4-story mid-rise hotel situated parallel to the Iberostar Punta Cana, together with which it forms half of the twin All-Inclusive Iberostar resort complex. Each air-conditioned room features a balcony or patio.

Iberostar Diving

The on site Dive Center offers free diving in the pool. Various courses and interesting excursions are offered.

Fun and Exciting Dives

During your dive trip, you expect every dive to be fun and exciting.  Since there are many levels of recreational divers, not everyone shares the same definition of what fun and exciting means.  The professional staff is trained to listen to what you, as a diver, expect to see and then take you there.

Offered are a wide variety of diving activities, with courses ranging from FREE SCUBA TRY-OUTS in the pool to Professional Dive Instructor courses.  Even the most demanding divers will find their thrill at Iberostar and Dressel Divers with underwater photography, wreck diving, night dives, cavern diving, nitrox and more.

Organized activities by Entertainment Team, Billiards, Table Tennis, Volley Ball, Gymnastics, Jazz, Air Rifle Shooting, Archery. Professional Shows, Live Nightly Entertainment, Star Rock Disco, exciting casino action in the Dominicana Casino. 

The Mini-Club (4-8 years), Maxi-Club (9-12 years) and Teeny Club offer all types of activities supervised by a professional staff. There is also a playground and mini-disco.

JUDY AND MARIA'S First Impression of the Iberostar Bavaro, Iberostar Dominicana and Punta Cana Resorts:  The Iberostar Bavaro's lobby looks like a picture postcard!   The lobby presents guests with a feeling of opulance  --   from the magnificent sculptures and artwork --  to the full-size bronze Trojan horse and the polished-marble floors  --  light, open, lush and tropical.   One's initial impression is that "I/we sure made the correct decision to vacation here."  

The Iberostar Bavaro Junior Suite Resort is large and tropical with winding pathways lined with palm trees and abundant fragrant flowers. Wildlife abounds -  parrots, turtles, fish, ducks and strolling peacocks.   The resort complex consists of three properties – The Iberostar Bavaro Jr. Suite Resort, The Iberostar Punta Cana Resort and The Iberostar Dominicana Resort.  Guests staying at the Iberostar Bavaro Jr. Suite Resort have full-use of all three hotels facilities. Guests staying at the Punta Cana and Dominicana cannot use of the facilities at the Iberostar Bavaro.

Upon our arrival at the Iberostar Resorts in Punta Cana, we were greeted with a cool, delicious tropical drink.  Our check in was quick and the staff was courteous.

IBEROSTAR BAVARO RESORT ACCOMMODATIONS: Our accommodations at the Iberostar Bavaro Resort were light, colorful, cool and clean. Each of our suites had a king bed, sitting area, mini bar, desk, satellite color television, safety deposit box, ceiling fan and a large marble bath with plenty of towels. Cut flowers and towels rolled into animal shapes were placed throughout out suite. The air conditioning worked great!  The voltage is 110 volts.

IBEROSTAR BAVARO RESORT DINING:  Dining was very nice.  The food was somewhat different from what we are accustomed to – more European and Latin American. Guests on a seven-night stay will receive two vouchers for the specialty restaurants. Reservations are required and must be made immediately upon arrival. Reservations may be very difficult obtain if you do not make immediately. We dined in the buffet restaurant the first evening, the Mexican Restaurant the second evening and the Steakhouse Restaurant on the third evening. Meals were well presented, the staff were pleasant and smiling and they worked hard to please guests. 

Dress Code for Dinner – no shorts (elegant Bermudas allowed) or sleeveless T-shirts. No bathing suits allowed in any restaurants.

We strolled along Caribbean Street, which offered numerous shops including novelty, souvenir, dive store, jewelry store, a spa with Jacuzzi, and an open-air gym overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The buildings were very colorful – pastels in pink and yellow.

IBEROSTAR BAVARO RESORT  CASINO: There is a small air-conditioned casino located at the Iberostar Dominicana. We played the slot machines every evening -- machines open from 4:00 PM to 3:00 AM, tables from 8:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Ages 18 and older. Note: The bar in the casino is not included in the all-inclusive plan - inconvenient.

IBEROSTAR BAVARO RESORT DISCO:  The Disco "DC-6" is located between the Dominicana and Punta Cana.  It is fun – even if you just watch the action. You enter the disco through the plane. The DJ sits high above the disco floor in the DC-6 cockpit and the bar is made from the plane’s wing. The disco is air conditioned and cool.

IBEROSTAR BAVARO RESORT KID'S CLUB:  Lucy’s MiniClub provides games and kindergarten supervised by the entertainment team for children ages 4 to 12 years old. It is open from 10:00 am to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

IBEROSTAR BAVARO RESORT SPORTS ACTIVITIES:  not included in the all-inclusive program are horseback riding, tennis, and motorized watersports. The resort does not offer jet skis and four-wheel vehicles because of liability.

IBEROSTAR BAVARO RESORT SPA: The spa and fitness center is open from 7:30 AM until 7:30 PM. The spa offers a Turkish bath, relaxing and toning massages, reflextherapy and more.
